ALuminium Titanium Carbon Grain Refiner Aluminium Titanium Carbon Grain Refiner .These superbly made master alloys are used in aluminum wrought alloys and foundry alloys for composition adjustments and structure control. ALD Alloy aluminium-titanium carbon (AlTiC) rod is an effective grain refiner for a number of aluminium alloys, which include the Mg and Zr containing series, and in manufacturing boron treated EC grade aluminium. Aluminium-Titanium-Carbon is a suitable alternative to Aluminium-Titanium-Boron grain refiners, especially for in applications where TiB2 is undesirable. Examples include casting systems in which the presence of agglomerated TiB2 promotes premature filter blockage, surface defects caused by TiB2 agglomerates and grain refiner poisoning caused by the presence of zirconium. Application The application of ALTiC grain refiner is EC grade, 5000 and 7000 series aluminium alloys. AlTiC grain refiner rod finds applications in a number of casthouses globally for a range of different alloys and semi finished products.
